On behalf of the High Point Community Foundation, we wish you and your family a heartfelt and meaningful Thanksgiving. May this season remind us of the power of gratitude to open hearts, strengthen communities, and renew our shared purpose.

While we remember the first Thanksgiving of 1621, it was President Abraham Lincoln who, in the darkest days of the Civil War, established Thanksgiving as a national holiday—believing that even in struggle, a grateful spirit could help heal a divided nation. His message still speaks to us today.

This Thanksgiving, may we choose to see the good in one another, to listen more deeply, to serve more freely, and to believe in a future where unity, compassion, and opportunity are not aspirations but realities. When we come together with generosity and hope, there is no limit to the impact we can make.

We are thrilled to announce and welcome Allison Seymour to our team here at the High Point Community Foundation. She is stepping into a new role—Director of Donor Engagement. Allison’s primary focus is to work directly with current donors, potential donors to increase Donor Advised Funds, and work directly with business/community leaders & nonprofit organizations to integrate more into the community!

Allison joins us from New Garden Friends School in Greensboro where she was the Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement. There, she partnered with parents, alumni, board members, and local supporters to meet annual fund goals and develop programing within the school. Her work was instrumental in launching the school’s first-ever endowment campaign, a historic milestone in its 52-year legacy.

She holds a bachelor's degree in biology and religious studies from UNC-Greensboro, as well as a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University.

The High Point Community Foundation wants to wish you all Happy New Year! It is our pleasure to pass on to you overview of the past year and a peek into the New Year. We have much to be thankful for - it’s been a year of growth, impact and new visions for the Foundation. I want to take this time to share with you all about what has been one of the strongest years the Foundation has ever experienced in terms of impact, achievement and the continued pursuit of what I believe is a noble mission, enhancing the lives of those who live in High Point.
