Kiewit has received approval for a single lane closure at the tunnel, between mile markers 7 and 8 US Hwy 82, during the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm this coming Thursday and Friday October 12th and 13th. We will have flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic during these hours.

The Lincoln National Forest updated County Commissioners on their 2017 wildfire outlook at their March 9 meeting.

Close your doors! Having a door closed in a fire makes a HUGE difference. At night before you go to bed, close your door, close all the bedroom doors, close any door in the house that you can.

This photo was shared from another department and was taken following a basement fire. The owners were alerted by their smoke alarms, and were able to escape. This basic interior wood door held the fire and smoke in the room of origin and allowed the family time to escape and helped minimize the spread of damage in their home.
