High Springs Police Department

High Springs Police Department High Springs Police Department The High Springs Police Department (HSPD) has a proud history of service to the High Springs community dating back to 1892.
(29)

We are a full service police department offering a wide variety of services that are provided to you by full-time, part-time and reserve police officers, and an administrative assistant/evidence manager. The foundation of any police department must contain an active crime watch program. Whether it is a residential or commercial crime watch group, we need your eyes and ears to tell us what is happening in our community so we may unite as one and make our streets safer and our homes secure. In order to accomplish this, please follow the links provided and start a residential or commercial crime watch group in your neighborhood or business community today. Please report ALL suspicious activity to the HSPD. This can be done by dialing 9-1-1, or (386) 454-1415. Citizens can also remain anonymous and report crimes or important information to Crime Stoppers by dialing (352) 372-7867(STOP). Callers can receive up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Mission: The mission of the High Springs Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the City of High Springs by working in partnership with the community. We will preserve the peace and uphold the law within the framework of the United States Constitution. Our mandate is to operate with honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards, accountability and transparency to maintain public confidence.

•••Lock It Or Lose It•••
Our City has recently experienced some Isolated Vehicle Burglaries in Southside Terrace & the Northwest Quadrant of High Springs.

HSPD Patrol Division, over the last two days, walked some of the affected Neighborhoods, divided up and distributed flyers to our Citizens’ homes, reminding them to Lock it or Lose it.

The majority of all vehicle burglaries involved vehicles that were left unlocked. Always lock your vehicle, when away from it; even if only for a few minutes.

At today's meeting, the County Commission took several important steps. Their new emergency order will follow the Governors Executive Order 20-139 with two additions:

1. Facial coverings remain mandatory. In the Commission discussion, it was mentioned that the University of Florida was also requiring facial coverings and that consistency was important.

2. The Commission is requiring businesses to adhere to OSHA and CDC Covid-19 guidelines to keep the public and their employees safe.

In addition, the new order will allow playgrounds to be opened. All County parks and their playgrounds will be opened on Friday, June 12th. The one exception is Poe Springs which will be opened on weekends only (Sat. & Sun.) for the time being.

Today School Resource Officers Jason Taylor & Adam Joy, drove around & passed out Footballs & Basketballs, to some of the Youth that they saw out in the Community. Officer Taylor even joined some of them for a quick Basketball Game at Walter Howard Park. The balls were donated by the Basketball Cop Foundation today.

The last photo is the Founder, Officer B. White who brought the balls over earlier this evening to Officer Tillman. The kids were all very happy & started playing with them immediately. Thank you to the Basketball Cop Foundation for generous donation! These are just some photos we were able to grab. 🏀🏈🏀🏈

High Springs City Hall to roll out three phase re-opening plan

For the last several weeks, your High Springs City Hall has been attempting to balance the health and safety of city staff while still delivering the superior customer service you have come to expect. Beginning next week, the first two phases of our three phase plan will begin.

Phase One: For the week of May 26th, live operators will be available weekdays from 8AM-noon to answer any questions by phone at 386-454-1416. Calls outside of that time will be answered by voicemail, and a member of staff will promptly return your call.

Phase Two: Beginning the week of June 1st and until such a time that the City Manager deems, City Hall will be open from 8AM-4PM by appointment only. These appointments are for new accounts, closing or transferring an account and tag related transactions only. To pay your bill continue using the City drop box or paying on line.

The number one priority of your High Springs officials is SAFETY. The safety of you, and your loved ones, and the safety of our staff. The past several weeks have been a challenge for us all. Your city staff has attempted to adapt as efficiently as possible, and appreciates your patience. We hope this new multi-phase plan will help us all return to normal.

Plans may be subject to change in accordance with further guidance from county, state or federal government.
