Lexi Kellen joined 298 Henderson County High School and CTC seniors for their senior trip to Holiday World! The fun trip celebrated all seniors who are post-secondary ready before they walk the stage at graduation this week. Congrats to Henderson County class of 2026! And thanks to Lexi and all Kentucky College Coaches for doing such important work to get our students to their next great adventure!

Our very own 2nd year volunteer, Mrs. Robyn Brown, had to share a story of success with us β€” and it is definitely worth celebrating! πŸŽ‰

Yesterday, Mrs. Browning’s NAA 100 dual credit class through Big Sandy Community & Technical College achieved something incredible: every student passed their SRNA (State Registered Nurse Aide) exam and is now officially a Certified Nursing Assistant! That’s right β€” a 100% pass rate for the entire class! πŸ©ΊπŸ‘

Robyn shared just how proud she is of these students and everything they have accomplished: β€œI am incredibly proud of each of these students and all they have accomplished. Their hard work, dedication, and determination have truly paid off. They are going to do amazing things! A special congratulations also to Mrs. Browning for her outstanding leadership and commitment to her students. Her passion for teaching and dedication to helping her students succeed is clearly reflected in this incredible achievement.”

Stories like this are such a powerful reminder of the impact our volunteers, educators, and students are making every single day across Kentucky.

Congratulations to these students on this amazing accomplishment and best wishes as they begin their journeys in healthcare! πŸ’™

Last week, our Eastern KY Field Support Specialist, Ms. Ivy Smith, had the opportunity to travel across Eastern Kentucky visiting two incredible volunteers at their partner sites. These visits continue to leave her feeling inspired, grateful, and excited for the impactful work happening throughout the region.

During her travels, Ivy visited Logan Taulbee at and Emma Lang at Maysville Community and Technical College. Both visits served as powerful reminders of just how meaningful and impactful this work truly is for students and local communities. From supporting students through college and career readiness conversations to creating welcoming spaces where students feel encouraged, supported, and seen, these volunteers are making a difference every single day.

What stood out most throughout both visits was the genuine passion Logan and Emma have for serving their students and communities. These visits continue to highlight that the heart of this program is people β€” individuals who care deeply, show up consistently, and work hard to help students recognize opportunities for their future and believe in their own potential.

We are incredibly thankful for volunteers like Logan and Emma and proud of the meaningful work being done across Eastern Kentucky every day! πŸ’™

College Level Volunteers Shout Out!

Last week, our Eastern KY Field Support Specialist, Ms. Ivy Smith, had the opportunity to visit the incredible team at Ashland Community & Technical College, and was left completely blown away by the experience! πŸ’™πŸ’›

From the moment she entered the building, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, energetic, and honestly a little chaotic in the best possible way. It was immediately clear that this is a team that genuinely cares about the work they are doing and the students they serve. The environment felt fun, supportive, student-centered, and deeply collaborative while still remaining professional and highly engaged.

During the visit, Ivy had the opportunity to spend time with Scott Davis (Sassy), Madison Hutchinson, Misty Hutchinson, Aubrey Stevens, and Brittney Gilbert. Although classes were not in session at the time of the visit, the impact of their work was still incredibly evident through conversations, programming discussions, and the passion each team member shared when talking about students and campus engagement.

The team is doing amazing things for their campus community β€” from wellness programming, student engagement events, family-centered activities, graduation support, peer leadership, transfer programming, classroom engagement, outreach initiatives, and creating spaces where students feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

What stood out most throughout the visit was how every conversation continuously centered around students. Whether it was helping calm nerves before graduation, supporting first-generation students, creating opportunities for connection, or simply being a safe and welcoming presence on campus, this team clearly pours their hearts into this work every single day.

The conversations shared during the visit also sparked important discussions surrounding the differences between college-level and high school-level service and how can continue strengthening support, visibility, and representation for college-level volunteers across the program.

In Ivy’s words, this team represents the gold standard for what collaboration, student engagement, and service can look like at the college level. We are incredibly grateful for the work being done at ACTC and proud to celebrate the impact these volunteers continue making across their campus community. πŸ’™πŸ’›
