On Thursday, May 14th, we took our first steps to participating in the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (OCLEAP). We had a formal signing ceremony with Director Ed Burkhammer, Mayor Chuck Brunello, and Chief Dennis Matejcic. We are committing to performing under a professional format with proofs of meeting specific standards. The accreditation process ensures compliance annually, and involves a full assessment on a four year cycle. We recognize that accreditation can help improve community and government relations, reduce complaints and liability, provide guidance in best practices and develop a higher level of professionalism.
