To our dedicated officers, coworkers, law enforcement partners, residents, and community members who proudly serve both their families and our community, thank you for the example you set each day.

Whether you are a father by birth, by choice, or by the positive influence you have on others, your efforts do not go unnoticed. We wish you a day filled with love, appreciation, and cherished moments with those who matter most.

The Highland Hills Police Department stands with the Maple Heights Police Department during this time of unimaginable loss.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Officer Matthew Thomas and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Rest in Peace, Officer Thomas. We have the watch from here. 💙

It is with profound sadness that Maple Heights Firefighters Local 1184 acknowledges the untimely passing of Maple Heights Police Officer Matthew William Thomas.
Officer Thomas dedicated his life to serving and protecting the citizens of Maple Heights with honor, courage, and compassion. As a respected police officer and Field Training Officer, he earned the admiration of his fellow officers, first responders, and the community through his professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment to others.
The bond between police officers and firefighters is built on shared service, sacrifice, and a commitment to protecting our community. Matthew embodied those values every day. His loss is deeply felt throughout the public safety family, and his legacy of dedication and selfless service will never be forgotten.
On behalf of the members of Maple Heights Firefighters Local 1184, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Matthew's wife, family, friends, and our brothers and sisters of the Maple Heights Police Department during this incredibly difficult time.
Please keep Officer Thomas' loved ones and all those affected by this tragic loss in your thoughts and prayers.

She embodied our community's core values, viewing her work as a calling to contribute positively. Her unwavering commitment and integrity inspired us all.
Let us celebrate the joy and positivity she brought, remembering her laughter and belief in people’s goodness. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains in our community.
