Access to verified facts empowers people. American must get past the noise if they plan to find winning strategies that can protect our democracy. While the nation is right to be focused on international news, we cannot ignore critical state-level actions currently being designed to manipulate the 2026 midterm elections.
Maga is working on multiple strategies to hold onto power. While most people were talking about Venezuela, Maga is looking at the mid-term elections.
With the death of GOP Congressman Doug LaMalfa, the departure of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Trump’s fight with GOP Thomas Massie over his release of the Epstein files, the GOP majority is shrinking. If the GOP loses one more seat, the House will be deadlocked. If they lose two, Democrats could regain the House bringing back a system of checks and balances in Congress and impacting the Trump agenda.
To prevent this, MAGA allies are taking drastic steps at the state level that rarely get the coverage they deserve. In Missouri, the Secretary of State recently threw out over 100,000 signatures from citizens trying get a statewide vote to stop the erasure of a Black Democratic congressional seat. Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just announced a special session to redraw maps with the goal of removing five Democratic House seats just in time for the 2026 midterms.
To protect our freedoms, Americans must stay informed and look beyond the headlines. We need comprehensive news sources with verifiable facts because social media is not the way to get the truth. Social media is built on algorithms designed to ramp up engagement and outrage, not accuracy. We cannot afford to let the loudest voice in the country replace verified facts with reliable, professional reporting.
To protect our freedoms, make sure to know the difference between a conversation and a fact. Social media is a way to stay connected, but journalism is a way to stay informed.
