As we approach the season of giving thanks for our blessings, unfortunately many of our Lake County Family Focus families are feeling anything but blessed. We are reaching out to our Facebook friends and to our neighbors for support of parents and young children facing unprecedented challenges.

At Family Focus, we see firsthand how access to healthy food is fundamental to a child’s ability to grow, learn, and thrive. That’s why we’re raising our voices today:

🚨 Congress must act now to ensure November SNAP benefits are protected — or millions of families, children, and people with disabilities could go hungry.

👉 SNAP supports 42 million Americans — 40% of them are children. These benefits aren’t just numbers—they’re nourishment, dignity, and a lifeline for families working hard to make ends meet.

In past government shutdowns, funds were made available in advance. We need that same urgency now.
