Today is the day the caterpillar and the woodland fort get placed inside of Kids Kastle! We know y’all have been waiting to see them get moved into the Kastle. It’s not your average caterpillar weighing in at 6000 lbs. We had to call in a crane to move them as the fort weighs 12,000 lbs!

Our Fire Department is sharing some great tips to having a safe and cozy fireplace this winter. #SafetyFirst #HVFD

HVFD knows that many of you will want to relax in front of your fireplace during the colder weather this week. Unfortunately, we were recently dispatched to a residence for a chimney fire and don't want anyone else to have this frightening experience. Make sure to have your fireplace chimney inspected annually to prevent chimney fires or carbon monoxide poisoning from poor ventilation.

Cozy up to fireplace safety and we won't have to interrupt your relaxing evening with sirens and lights.

Curbside voting is available at the Highland Village Municipal Complex. If a voter is physically unable to enter the polling place, he or she may ask that an election officer bring a ballot to the entrance of the polling place or to a car parked at the curbside. After the voter marks the ballot, they will give it to the election officer, who will put it in the ballot box. Or, at the voter’s request, a companion may hand the voter a ballot and deposit it for him or her.

As we head into autumn, our lawns need less and less water. To remind you of how much extra water your lawn needs, Upper Trinity now features the ‘Water My Yard’ weekly lawn watering recommendations directly on our brand new website. The feature tells you how long to water, based on your location and sprinkler type, and even suggests cycle & soak tips to be even more water-wise.
