All the proceeds of these sales will go to support the Oliver family. You can purchase your t-shirt at Megans Lifestyle Boutique or online at https://www.meganslifestyleboutique.com/sgt-dennis-oliver-never-forgotten-t-shirt/ #SgtOliver #HVPD

Members of the Valley Creek Church stopped by yesterday and left fifty of these cute little bags that contained one of our favorite things - snacks! Everyone was quite happy to munch on them like happy little squirrels. Thank you for thinking of us!
The nice folks at Hashem Orthodontics were kind enough to stop by this week and provide us with some personalized face masks and several tasty pieces of candy. Thank you so much for thinking of us!
The Lone Star Corvette Club selected the TXFallenPD Tribute Event as their charity of the year for 2020. If you'd like to help support the Fallen Officer Fund, you can purchase a TXFallenPD Memorial T-Shirt. Just stop by the police station to get yours! Short sleeve is $20 and long sleeve is $30
The Texas Department of State Health Services provides tips for a safe Halloween, Día de los Muertos:
With COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations rising, you don’t have to abandon Halloween and Día de los Muertos activities, but you can make them safer this year. The Texas Department of State Health Services is sharing tips on what you can do to minimize the risk of spreading the novel coronavirus during this season.
The safest activities are those that put you in direct contact only with people you live with. You can carve pumpkins or decorate your home, prepare a meal that was a favorite of your deceased loved ones, make an ofrenda, or participate in an online costume contest or fashion show.
Outdoor activities can provide more space for physical distancing and reduce the risk of spreading the virus from one person to another. Join in a neighborhood costume parade or scavenger hunt where people stay six feet apart. Decorate the graves of loved ones or have a small group of family and friends for an outdoor meal at a safe distance. Instead of door-to-door trick or treating, leave individually bagged treats at the end of the driveway or on the front steps so children can pick them up without direct contact with other people.
Large, indoor gatherings and anything that brings you face-to-face with people you don’t live with should be avoided.
Masks are more important than ever, but a costume mask is not a substitute for a protective cloth mask. It won’t provide the same kind of protection unless it has at least two layers of breathable fabric that completely cover the nose and mouth. Build a protective mask into your costume, and don’t wear separate protective and costume masks at the same time because that can make it more difficult to breathe.
As always, washing your hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when you’re sick will help prevent COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses from spreading.

Good Morning, Highland Village! Here's your weekly forecast and a reminder that "somedays you just have to create your own sunshine." #staypositive #SmileHV #WeatherReport
One of the recipients of the money raised from this dinner is the Highland Village Animal Shelter. Please consider feeding your family and helping the shelter at the same time. We would like to point out that "To Go" orders are available as well since not all of us are comfortable sitting inside for eating just yet. Thank you in advance to everyone that purchases a ticket to help!

Reporting fraud helps everyone – and now it’s easier to do
You can help the FTC and its partners fight fraud in your community — and you don’t even need to wear a superhero cape (unless you want to).
Our hearts are even more broken this morning as we heard about Everman Emergency Services and their loss of Officer Alex Arango due to COVID. No loss due to this illness is any less important, but considering our own recent loss of Sergeant Oliver due to COVID, we are sharing their pain even more. Please continue to send love and prayers their way.
It is with the deepest sadness, that we announce the Line of Duty Death of Officer Alex Arango, #186. Officer Arango passed this morning, as a result of COVID-19, to which he contracted while on duty. Officer Arango served the community of Everman and Tarrant County for nearly 27 years with pride and honor.
While you are sending up love and prayers for Sergeant Oliver's family, please work in a few for Officer Alex Arango with Everman Emergency Services. He is battling COVID-19 and was placed on a ventilator yesterday.
One of our very own is currently hospitalized in the ICU in critical condition, battling COVID-19. Today, Officer Alex Arango was placed on a ventilator. Officer Arango has been selflessly serving the citizens of Everman for nearly 27 years. Officer Arango has sacrificed so much for others, now it’s time to give back to him. The family is asking for your prayers, for strength and healing.
Tonight, there will be a prayer vigil held in the parking lot of Harris Southwest Hospital in Fort Worth. Masks are required and we will be socially distancing. The family is asking for anyone who is comfortable with participating, to join us. If you cannot, that is okay and they ask that you please join us in prayer at that time from wherever you are.

In further support of our Backing the Blue, we have decided to highlight a member of Law Enforcement each month in the The Cross Timbers Gazette. This ad will feature the officer's Bio, and a little bit about themselves, and hopefully bring them a little closer to folks in their communities.
This month's nominee is Detective Marcy Leggett, from the Highland Village Police Department. You can find her story in this month's issue of the Cross Timbers Gazette.
The featured officer will also be given a gift card from 407 BBQ, so hopefully they can take some food home and enjoy with family. Congratulations on being our inaugural honoree Det. Leggett!!
Have an officer you would like to nominate for a job well done? Please email [email protected]

I had the distinct honor of assisting the Highland Village Police Department with documenting the sad events of this past week. If just one of you learns of Sgt. Dennis Oliver and speaks his name, he will forever be in your heart and I have done a tiny bit to carry on his legacy.
The video is images I captured for the Department.

Curbside voting is available at the Highland Village Municipal Complex. If a voter is physically unable to enter the polling place, he or she may ask that an election officer bring a ballot to the entrance of the polling place or to a car parked at the curbside. After the voter marks the ballot, they will give it to the election officer, who will put it in the ballot box. Or, at the voter’s request, a companion may hand the voter a ballot and deposit it for him or her.

A faithful servant, A great husband, A wonderful man. We celebrate you. #SgtDennisOliver @highlandvillagepd
While we are all trying to remember #whatwoulddennisdo, we know that he was always the first one to step up and try to help anyone he could. As another police officer looking for his kidney donation, sharing this post is definitely something Dennis would do. #kidneytransplant, #HoustonPoliceDepartment
An HPD sergeant desperately needs a kidney, but so far, he hasn't had luck finding a match. It's also taking a toll on his young son.
