With so many more cars on the road today than there were 20 to 30 years ago, it is important for our crews to be confident in their ability to use extrication tools when the need arises. Thanks to Pro Tow Wrecker Service we are able to regularly conduct hands-on extrication training. Thank you Flower Mound Fire Department for covering our City while we were training.

HVFD knows that many of you will want to relax in front of your fireplace during the colder weather this week. Unfortunately, we were recently dispatched to a residence for a chimney fire and don't want anyone else to have this frightening experience. Make sure to have your fireplace chimney inspected annually to prevent chimney fires or carbon monoxide poisoning from poor ventilation.

Cozy up to fireplace safety and we won't have to interrupt your relaxing evening with sirens and lights.

Retired Lewisville Captain Chris Kirk passed away on Saturday. Captain Kirk served the citizens of Lewisville for 29 years before retiring in 2017. At the time of his passing, he was Chief of the Greenville-Overbrook Volunteer Fire Department in Love County, Oklahoma. He is being remembered as a great friend, firefighter, and mentor by those that had the honor of working with him.

Carrollton Fire Rescue's Captain Lee Holbert died on Sunday after being hospitalized for a medical emergency suffered while on duty. Fire Chief Salmi called the 30 year veteran "an exceptional firefighter, a selfless teammate, and a tireless public servant".

The Highland Village Fire Department sends our condolences to the Lewisville and Carrollton Fire Departments.
