Clothing for the scarecrows will NOT be provided.

Bring your own old clothes, pajamas, or costumes, etc.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Veterans and Service Members who are parents of children of any age:

A chance to work side-by-side with professional songwriters to create and record a one-of-a-kind song for your child!

The New York State Department of Veterans’ Services is partnering with Carnegie Hall — yes, the Carnegie Hall — to offer an extraordinary experience for Veterans and Service Members.

This opportunity is also available for parents who are expecting a child’s upcoming birth and wish to create a song welcoming that child into the world.

This unique chance will be brought to you completely free of charge through the Department's partnership with Carnegie Hall’s wonderful Lullaby Project.

No prior musical experience is necessary to participate in creating this original work of music for your child!

Importantly, there is no requirement that you live in New York City to take part in this program! The meetings with the songwriting artist paired with you can take place entirely online! Even individuals stationed overseas have taken part virtually.

Join Us for SALUTE2VETS on the Walkway Over the Hudson - Hudson Valley Veterans Appreciation Night, an evening of remembrance, gratitude, appreciation, and community on Friday, September 18 from 6-8 p.m.

This special evening event honors those who have served our nation with resource tables, entertainment, and a moving sunset salute.

On the East (Poughkeepsie) side, Dutchess County Veteran Services and MHA Dutchess Vet2Vet will host informational booths for veterans, alongside food trucks, music, and complimentary meals for veterans and their families. — featuring the 42nd Infantry Division Band, a live United States Air Force enlistment ceremony. Over on the West (Highland) side, Ulster County Veteran Services and HVNCVR Vet2Vet will offer the same warm welcome and services.

The New York State Department of Veterans’ Services will be onsite for this patriotic event.

At 7:00 p.m. we unite as all guests are invited to the Center Overlook on the middle of the Walkway over the Hudson. Veterans and supporters from both sides of the Hudson will meet at the American flag for a heartfelt ceremony honoring our heroes, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the river.
This event is free and open to all.

Events like this are a wonderful opportunity to honor Veterans while connecting them and their families with resources and support close to home.
