The red poppy became a symbol of Memorial Day after World War I, inspired by the poem In Flanders Fields. Poppies bloomed across battlefields, reminding people of sacrifice, remembrance, and hope. Today, they honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service. ❤️Always in our hearts!

Congratulations to Highland High School seniors Victor Dahowski, Kyle Menezes, and Taso Bakatsias, who participated in the SUNY Ulster graduation on May 16 to celebrate the achievement of earning associate’s degrees while still in high school. These scholars met the rigorous credit requirements to earn their degrees from SUNY Ulster while balancing a host of high school activities, including sports, jobs, volunteer work, and extracurriculars. We are so proud!
