Highland Junior Varsity Trojans fell 7-4 to South Central on Saturday despite out-hitting them 11 to nine. Alyce Valiunas (Freshman) and Rebecca Machuca (Junior) each collected three hits for Highland Junior Varsity Trojans. Alyce had TWO doubles and one hit off the Right Field wall just missing a HR!

Machuca stepped in the circle first for Highland Junior Varsity Trojans. The right-handed pitcher allowed nine hits and seven runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one.

Highland Junior Varsity Trojans amassed 11 hits in the game. Machuca drove the middle of the lineup, leading Highland Junior Varsity Trojans with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Addison Barajas (Freshman) collected two hits for Highland Junior Varsity Trojans in three at bats. Ellie Mueller (Freshman) stole 💨 two bases.

This game closed out the 2024 season for our JV team. We’re very excited about the growth these ladies had throughout the season!

Highland Varsity Trojans Fall To South Central Varsity Satellites 3-2, Despite a Strong Performance From Skylar Zoeteman

Skylar Zoeteman (Junior) struck out 10 batters (New Personal Best in High School Ball) but Highland Varsity Trojans fell to South Central Varsity Satellites 3-2 on Saturday. Zoeteman gave up six hits and three runs (One earned run) over seven innings while walking two.

Highland Varsity Trojans opened the scoring in the second after Jordan Boyd (Junior) hit a solo home run 💣 to left/center field! Her 1st of the season & 3rd of her HS Career.

Number nine hitter, Jazmine DeJesus (Sophomore), showed the depth of Highland Varsity Trojans's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Jillian Kinley (Senior) and Boyd each drove in one run for Highland Varsity Trojans. Highland Varsity Trojans turned one double play in the game, a 6-4-3 (Boyd-Rivera-DiSanto) to end the top of the 7th.

Evie Rivera (Sophomore) swiped 💨 a base today giving her 15 stolen bases on the season (Tying the Highland Trojans single season record) held by her sister Mia Rivera (2023 Graduate) and softball still to be played next Wednesday evening at Griffith in the 2nd round of sectional play!
