Healing from trauma takes time. There is no timeline for being “okay,” and recovery often happens one step at a time.

Survivors of trauma, including those who have experienced sexual violence, may face increased emotional challenges as they navigate their healing journey. Checking in, listening without judgment, and reminding someone they are not alone can make a meaningful difference.

September is

🖤 Celebrating 10 Years of Heart, Service & Commitment🖤
We’re a little late celebrating, but 🔟 years of serving survivors deserves to be celebrated all year long! 🎉

On August 8, we celebrated Client Services Director Becca Hatfield’s 10-year anniversary with Fair Haven RCC! Over the years, Becca has served Fair Haven in many roles starting as a Volunteer Medical Advocate, launching our Anti-Trafficking program, and serves today as the Client Services Director.

And if you know Becca, you know her service has never been limited to a job description or office hours. 💯24/7/365📲

🖤 She has shown up—and served—in so many different ways.
As an advocate, she has sat in hospital rooms beside survivors, helped empower victim-impact statements for court, and stood alongside those navigating the difficult road of healing. She has helped set standards, educate others, a champion for multidisciplinary initiatives that strengthen the response to sexual violence and inspiring others to .
As a leader, she has poured into and guided the Direct Services team, making herself available; sharing resources, debriefing with staff after the hard calls, and even taking on-call shifts so others could rest and recharge.
Celebrating office wins; conviction cake, preparing her trophy-winning soup, flipping burgers at staff gatherings and even sending memes to bring laughter and joy to the work day.

These pictures tell only a small part of the story—but they capture something important: Becca brings her heart wherever she serves because she truly does BELIEVE SURVIVORS!

That is ten years of heart.
That is ten years of commitment.
That is ten years supporting people at Fair Haven.🎉⚓🏆

Happy 10-Year Job-iversary, Becca!
Your decade of dedication is worth celebrating!
We are incredibly grateful for the heart you have invested in Fair Haven and the countless lives you have touched along the way.

Today, we recognize Women’s Equality Day and honor the generations of women who have advocated, challenged barriers, and paved the way for greater equality.

While we celebrate progress, we also recognize that the work continues. Every woman deserves to live with safety, dignity, opportunity, respect, and freedom from violence.

At Fair Haven RCC, we remain committed to standing with survivors, amplifying voices, and helping build stronger, safer communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Equality is not just something we celebrate—it is something we continue to work toward.

"Survivors Need us NOW!"- report update summary on GlobalGiving

“...even in the middle of the storm, the needs of survivors did not stop. Neither did we. Throughout the disaster, Fair Haven's 24-hour crisis line remained operational. Our advocates continued responding when survivors needed us, including hospital responses and court advocacy... even personally delivering shelf-stable food...”

Your support makes it possible for us to keep showing up, keep moving forward, and keep creating pathways to healing.
Will you stand with us? Every gift helps Fair Haven continue to be a safe port in the storm.
