Alas, we didn’t pull it off! We want to say thank you for everyone’s support. We’ll have more to say individually but for now: congratulations to our opponents.

Tuesday, May 5th is your last chance to have your voice heard in the Highlands Ranch Metro District election.

You can vote in-person (with on-site precautions being taken) from 7:00a-7:00p at the HRMD office at 62 Plaza Drive. If you received a ballot in the mail, you can deliver it to the same address.

Stay safe and thank you for your support!

We’ll be curious to see what this looks like tomorrow! Some of Colorado’s first chances to try out in-person voting under public health concerns.

If you didn’t get a mail ballot you can still vote in-person on May 5th. If you do have a ballot, you can drop it at HRMD until 7:00pm on May 5th.

Hello, I am Michelle Leuenberger and I’ve lived in Highlands Ranch for over 20 years. I moved to Colorado as a single professional after accepting a position as a market research analyst with an entertainment company. I was drawn to Highlands Ranch because of its affordable housing, good schools, open space, and easy access to the mountains. Since moving here, I’ve met and married my husband, Eric, and we are raising three elementary-aged children.

I am running for the Highlands Ranch Metro District because I believe it’s important for each of us to contribute to serving the community. My priorities include the completion of the senior center, paying off HRMD debts, and better access to affordable high-speed internet.

In addition, I would like to address the lack of public awareness and community participation in the HRMD Board of Directors elections. The HRMD is responsible for a budget of over $70M+ and 80 full-time employees. With such an important role in the community, I find it troubling that less than 5% of Highlands Ranch residents are voting for who manages the HRMD.

I have a bachelors degree in Business Administration and an MA in Communication and Mass Media. My work experience includes analytics and project management positions in market research for the entertainment, finance, and healthcare industries. I would like to put this experience to good use and continue to forge a strong relationship with the HRCA, expand public transportation options, and to ensure all voices in the Highlands Ranch community are being heard.

Hello, I'm Barrett Rothe. My wife and I both grew up in the south metro suburbs, in fact she graduated from Highlands Ranch High School. When we started our family we knew we wanted to be closer to the soon-to-be grandparents and we were fortunate to be able to move to Highlands Ranch, where we now have two daughters.

When I'm not running for the Metro District I am a project manager in the healthcare industry. I currently work on Medicare finance programs for a nonprofit health insurer, programs that account for over $20 billion in revenue for my company. My wife and I also own a small-business in Highlands Ranch, and we have been experiencing the business impacts of COVID-19 firsthand.

I'm running for the Metro District because I've always had an interest in public policy and how it can improve our lives, especially when local government is well-managed. That's why I earned my Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado, Denver. My hope is that the Metro District can better support small-businesses, bring more citizen involvement to its decision-making, build the senior center, pay down its debts ahead of schedule, and more - but first I have to win this seat. Hello, I'm Paula Smith. My husband, Dan and I have a 1st grader and a 4th grader. We moved to Highlands Ranch in 2008, when I started working for a global software company.

My profession allows me to learn the ins-and-outs of legislative impacts to employers and employees. I spend my days translating federal, state, and local laws and regulations to help employers correctly pay their employees, file reports to government agencies, and comply with other requirements. Prior to that, I worked for different organizations as an Applications Development Director, Independent Software Consultant, and Business Analyst. I have managed department budgets, vendor contracts, and their stakeholders. People who work with me in a business capacity know that I am analytical, not afraid to ask the tough questions, and will listen to the other side.

I hope to earn your support for the Highlands Ranch Metro District!.
