We are so excited to begin a fun new program for babies and toddlers in our area! Every 1st Wednesday of the month from 10:00-10:30, we will host Storybook Sprouts in the CME Library. Our Librarian, Allison Troxel and our Art Teacher, Karli Burke have some super fun books and easy crafts to share with parents and their little ones. It’s a great time to connect with other families in the area as well. This is a community event - attendance at CME is not required, so bring your friends to join in on the fun! This will begin on September 2nd. Please RSVP to Allison Troxel or Karli Burke to let us know you’re coming or ask any questions!

These bulletin boards aren’t just decoration, they’re a window into our classrooms.

Every display showcases student work, growth, and the pride our kids take in what they’re learning each day. When students see their efforts valued and visible, it builds confidence and a sense of ownership in their school.

They also invite our families in. From helping create displays to stopping by and seeing their child’s work on the wall, these boards spark connection, conversation, and community.

At Copper Mesa, even our walls tell a story and it’s one we’re proud to share. 💚

Our Copper Mesa Daughter Dance was just so much fun. 💚

Balloons everywhere, girls carefully picking out beads for friendship bracelets, mini golf putts that got very competitive, and a whole lot of dancing (and spinning and more dancing).

The best part? Watching the girls grab their grown-ups and pull them onto the dance floor like it was the most important thing in the world. These are the kinds of nights they’ll remember.

Huge thank you to our amazing PTO for planning such a special evening. It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make a night feel this effortless and joyful and we are so grateful. 💚

We are so grateful for our partnership with Mountain Vista High School and the incredible students of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica!

This week, our high school leaders visited Copper Mesa Elementary School to read bilingual books with our kindergarten, second, and fifth grade students. Watching lightbulbs go off as our learners used context clues to discover the meaning of Spanish words was pure joy.

We feel so fortunate to partner with SHH not only for these meaningful read-alouds, but also through our CME Spanish Club. Each week, high school students come to learn, dance, and support our kids as they grow their language skills and confidence.

This is what community, connection, and lifelong learning look like. Thank you, Vista, for pouring into our students!

Our cafeteria has a beautiful new look and it’s straight from the hearts of our students. 💚

Thanks to our incredible PTO, our fifth and sixth graders worked together on this paint-by-number mural as a special gift to the school before they head off to middle school in just a few short months. Watching them collaborate, encourage one another, and take pride in their work was truly special.

This mural represents more than a Rocky Mountain trail scene; it reflects the journey our students have taken together and the strong community they’ve helped build here. Most of all, it was meaningful for them to give back and leave their mark on a place that has been home for so many important memories.

We are so proud of this class and so grateful to our PTO for creating opportunities that bring our community together.

Our first graders celebrated the 101st day of school with a 101 Dalmatians theme and some truly priceless writing. Students imagined what life will be like when they’re 101 years old, some dressed as dalmatians, all full of creativity.

I had the chance to hear a few students read their pieces, and it brought me so much joy (and laughter!). One student plans to have kids… and admits they’ll be “annoying.” Another will be doing yoga with friends at 101.

Moments like these remind us that learning is joyful, meaningful, and full of wonder. We’re so proud of our 101-days-smarter first graders!
