The Douglas County School District will be CLOSED on Wednesday, May 6 due to inclement weather conditions.
A winter storm warning is in effect for Douglas County now through tomorrow afternoon. We recognize that while recent warm temperatures may limit snow accumulation on roads, the heavy wet snow increases the chances of power outages, downed power lines and broken tree branches. In addition, roads are likely to be icy, especially in the early morning hours. According to forecasts, it is expected to snow until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.
- As always, in the event of a closure, all DCSD buildings are closed.
Preschool, elementary, middle school and high school classes are cancelled
- BASE programs are closed
- Classes at the Bridge Program, D.C. Oakes, Eagle Academy, eDCSD and Plum Creek Academy are cancelled
- All activities, events, sports and facility rentals are cancelled*
*Information about any CHSAA playoff game cancellations will come directly from your school.
If you have a high school student who is scheduled to take an AP or other exam tomorrow, your school will provide information about make-up dates and times.
If your child attends a DCSD charter school, we encourage you to check in with your school.
Our snow team will continue to monitor the storm. We will provide any updates on our website and social media.
