Highlands Fire Department The official page of The Highlands Fire Department. Protecting Highlands since 1942. We operate out of two stations that protect residential and rural areas.

The Highlands Fire Department is an all Volunteer Organization that protects an estimated 15,500 people living in an area of 25 square miles located in Highlands, Texas. The department consists of 54 members, but is looking for additional members. The department was founded on October 29,1942. We respond to structure fires, brush fires, vehicle fires, motor vehicle accidents, water rescues, hazmat and medical assist type calls.

Highlands Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a fireworks stand on fire near N. Main and College St. Upon location Engine 17 found both smoke and flames visible. Crews quickly worked to extinguish the fire, but had to deal with fire works going off.

San Jacinto Street between S Main Street and Magnolia Street is now back open following the completion of our annual hose testing.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while crews worked in the area today.

🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧

Please be advised that San Jacinto Street between S Main Street and Magnolia Street will be closed today for our annual fire hose testing.

We ask that all residents avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews are working. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important annual testing to help ensure our equipment is ready to serve the community safely and effectively.

A huge thank you to the donors, community members, local organizations, and everyone involved in collecting and distributing these stuffed animals to children in emergency situations. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference during difficult moments, and we’re proud to be part of a community that always comes together to help others.
