Good Morning, Hyde County! ☀️📚

We hope everyone is getting excited for the first day of school this Thursday, August 20th! We want to help make sure our students, families, and drivers have a safe and successful start to the new school year. ❤️

A few friendly reminders as we get back into the school routine:

🚸 School Zone: The speed limit is 15 MPH when the school zone lights are flashing.

🚶 Watch for pedestrians: Please be alert for students crossing streets and walking near the school.

🛑 Stop at stop signs: Make sure to come to a complete stop and remain alert for students and other traffic.

Let's all do our part to keep our kids safe as they head back to school! Have a wonderful and safe school year, Hyde County! 🚌🍎📓

📍Highmore Auditorium - East Wing

On Wednesday, August 19 from 11:30am - 1:30pm Venture Communications is serving an appreciation lunch to say thank you to the incredible first responders, volunteers, and community members who stepped up following the Highmore storm.

Whether you spent hours clearing trees, checking on neighbors, directing traffic, restoring services, or responding to emergencies, your kindness and dedication made a lasting difference. We are grateful for everything you did to help our community recover.

Everyone is welcome! We especially encourage our first responders and volunteers to join us, but this is also a wonderful opportunity for the entire community to come together, share a meal, and personally thank those who helped when they were needed most.

This is a free will offering meal. Venture Communications will match all donations up to $2,000, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Highmore Volunteer Fire Department.

No matter how you helped - or if you're simply grateful for those who did - we hope you'll join us as we celebrate the people who came together to make Highmore stronger.

The Hyde County Sheriff’s Office will be closed on Wednesday, August 12, as we take time to remember and honor the life of Preston Aesoph.

Preston’s loss has deeply affected our office and our community. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Preston’s family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Preston. You will never be forgotten. 🖤

We have some exciting news!

The Division of Insurance will be at the Auditorium on August 4th and 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to help answer questions about your insurance coverage and claims.

To make the most of your visit, it's a good idea to come prepared with:
✅ A list of questions you'd like answered
✅ Your insurance policy documents
✅ Any letters, emails, or other communications related to your claim or coverage

This is a great opportunity to get information and guidance directly from the Division of Insurance. We hope to see you there!
