📣 The West Gate at Hill AFB will be closed June 13-14 for routine maintenance. During this weekend, the South Gate will be the only open access point to the base. The West Gate is scheduled to reopen at its normal time on Monday, June 15.

Hill AFB Fire & Emergency Services crews responded to the "South Mountain Fire" in support of a Type III resource request. The fire has grown to approximately 1,800 acres and is currently 70% contained.

🚨 FIRE PREVENTION ORDER IN EFFECT 🚨

Effective June 4, 2026, the Bureau of Land Management has issued Fire Prevention Order UTW002-2026-01 for public lands across much of northern Utah, including Weber, Davis, Tooele, Box Elder, Cache, Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake, Summit, Wasatch, Juab, and Millard counties.

The order prohibits:
• Steel component ammunition
• Steel targets
• Sky lanterns and similar devices
• Off-highway vehicles without approved spark arrestors

As temperatures rise and vegetation continues to dry, wildfire risk is increasing across the state. Please help protect our communities and public lands by following all fire restrictions and practicing good fire prevention habits.

Hill Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Services is excited to be part of Safe Kids Day 2026!

Join us on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Northridge High School for a free family event focused on keeping kids safe while having fun.

Come check out our fire trucks, meet firefighters, and enjoy all the activities the event has to offer, including free bike helmets (while supplies last), balloon twisters, prizes, and the Teddy Bear Clinic.

We look forward to seeing our community there for a great day of fun, learning, and safety!

Hill AFB Fire & Emergency Services Station #3 Crews (Little Mountain) responded to an automatic aid structure fire for Weber Fire District.

Crews did an outstanding job protecting property, equipment, and exposures during today's incident.

Hill AFB Fire & Emergency Services Fire Station #5 crews responded to a motor vehicle vs. semi-truck accident on I-80 this morning.
Fortunately, there were no significant injuries reported.
As we approach the busy summer months, emergency response activity continues to increase. Please stay alert, drive safely, and watch for emergency vehicles on our roadways.

Fire Station #3 crews (Little Mountain) supported Weber Fire District today on a 55-acre wildland fire.

Strong Automatic and Mutual Aid agreements are essential, and with an expected above-average wildland fire season ahead, these partnerships will continue to be tested. We appreciate the teamwork and cooperation of our neighboring agencies as we work together to protect our communities.

Yesterday, Hill AFB Fire & Emergency Services Station #5 crews responded alongside North Tooele Fire District, Clean Harbors Fire Brigade, Wendover Fire Department, and Grantsville Fire Department for a structure fire in Tooele County.

The remote location and a stubborn, deep-seated roof fire presented significant logistical hurdles. However, the seamless teamwork and dedication from all responding agencies got the job done!

This response perfectly highlights the strength and vital benefits of our strong Automatic and Mutual Aid agreements.

Outstanding job by everyone involved.
