FROM FLORIDA SENATOR RICK SCOTT
Dear Fellow Floridian,
Great news for Florida! This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed my Sunshine Protection Act this bill would end America’s twice-yearly time change and allow our great state to stay on Daylight Saving Time year-round. I have been calling on Congress to pass the Sunshine Protection Act ever since I was Governor. In 2018, as Governor of Florida, I signed legislation that, pending federal approval, would exempt Florida from the time change. In Florida, an extra hour in the evening allows people more time to be outside to play with their kids, walk their dogs, play golf, fish, and enjoy our world-famous beaches and parks. Daylight Saving Time helps our farmers, encourages healthier families by encouraging more time outdoors. It also helps make neighborhoods safer, grows the economy, and reduces electricity costs. Now it’s time for the Senate to do its job and pass the bill and then send it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.

Today we lost a loyal member to the Westside Republican Club, Jacque Osborne. She was the Nassau County State Committeewoman and very well versed in her obligations to bring all needed info back to her fellow Republicans. In addition, Jacque was tireless in her efforts at the Nassau Animal Shelter to bring a voice to the needs of animals. Our condolences to her family. She will be missed.

BEANS BRIEFS
In Northeast Florida, we expect the government to protect our tax dollars and to use them properly. Yet too often, outdated federal systems and loopholes let fraud and waste slip through the cracks instead of stopping them at the front door.

During this week’s Ways and Means Committee hearing, I spoke with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about how to change that. We discussed how the Treasury Department is leading efforts to stop fraud before it happens by using better data, stronger payment checks, and closer coordination among federal agencies. I even pressed the Secretary about disrupting scam calls and criminal networks.

I was honored to receive the National Taxpayers Union's "Taxpayers'
Friend Award" in recognition of my work to lower taxes and combat wasteful spending in Washington.
With many Northeast Florida families still feeling the strain of high costs, I remain committed to advancing commonsense policies that put more money back in taxpayers' pockets. From cutting red tape and reducing government waste to supporting measures like the Working Families Tax Cut, I'm focused on helping hardworking Americans keep more of what they earn.

Florida Democrats Recycle Failed Candidate Annette Taddeo - Again GOP news release.
Tallahassee, FL - Liberal Annette Taddeo has officially filed to run for Chief Financial Officer, marking the ninth campaign of her political career and proving once again that Florida Democrats simply cannot quit their failed candidates.
After nearly two decades of running for office, Taddeo has become one of Florida's most perennial political candidates. She has run for Congress twice, Miami-Dade County Commission, Lieutenant Governor, State Senate, Governor, Miami-Dade Clerk of Court, and now Chief Financial Officer. When Florida Democrats are desperate for a candidate, they apparently have only one answer: Annette Taddeo.

At a time when Republicans hold a voter registration advantage of more than 1.5 million voters, Democrats aren't offering a new vision for Florida. Instead, they're doubling down on a career politician who has spent years promoting the same radical tax-and-spend policies that Florida voters have rejected election after election.
While Democrats recycle failed candidates, the Republican Party of Florida is proud to support CFO Blaise Ingoglia, who is focused on protecting taxpayer dollars, increasing transparency, rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse, and ensuring Florida remains the nation's model for responsible government.
