🚨 - ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY - 🚨

The Hillsboro Police Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for 51-year-old Edward Keith Copeland, Jr. Copeland is 5'07", 130lbs, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Mr. Copeland was last seen on foot at the Circle K in Hillsboro on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at approximately 6:00am. He has not returned to his residence and has multiple medical conditions requiring medication. Considering the oppressive heat in the area, along with his medical needs, Copeland is considered an endangered missing person.

Anyone with information about Edward Copeland Jr.'s whereabouts is asked to contact the Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch Official at 636-797-9999.

Please join us in congratulating Property and Evidence Manager Judy Tufts, who was selected as the 2026 Non-Sworn Civilian of the Year by the Missouri Peace Officers Association. She was honored today at an awards luncheon in Jefferson City.

Managing an Evidence Room is no easy task. It requires meticulous organizational skills and a lot of focus and commitment to ensure evidence is properly cataloged and stored for court proceedings.

Judy ensures procedures are updated and compliant with legal requirements, provides ongoing training to staff, and supports the mission of our agency every day through her responsibility and accountability.

The Administrative Offices of the Hillsboro Police Department are CLOSED today for the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. As always, officers are on-duty and available by calling the Jefferson County 911 Dispatch Center at 636-797-9999.

The office will reopen at 8:00a Monday, June 22, 2026.

That's a wrap on the 2026 Jefferson County Rodeo!

Keeping events like these safe takes weeks of planning and lots of resources deployed on the ground. We could not do it without our partners at the Hillsboro Fire Protection District, Valle Ambulance District, and Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch Official, who help run emergency services for the miniature city that pops up at the fairgrounds.

We are also sincerely thankful to the De Soto Missouri Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Crystal City Police Department, City of Festus Police Department, and City of Pevely Missouri Police Department who all sent officers to assist this weekend, as well as the Jefferson College Law Enforcement Academy for their recruits and our Hillsboro Police Benevolent Foundation volunteers who staff our police tents!

And of course, special thanks to GB Images, who always captures our folks so wonderfully--even when we're sweating like there's no tomorrow.
