Around noon today, K9 Voight and several other local K9 teams will perform a large-scale demonstration at the field behind Livingston’s Auto!

The teams will demonstrate obedience and criminal-apprehension skills.

The demonstration is part of a K9 Carnival fundraiser hosted by the civilian ring-sport club that uses the field and supports our police K9 teams. The carnival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will include family-friendly activities, fun events for pet dogs, and lunch available for purchase.

Congratulations to Officer Smith, pictured to the right of Chief Parsons, on successfully completing the 16-week New Hampshire Police Academy. Smith now returns to Hillsboro PD for 16 weeks of field training before hitting the road on solo patrol.

The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating the theft of a black 2004 Chevrolet 2500 single-cab pickup truck with New Hampshire registration WILE-C. The truck was stolen just after midnight on August 7, 2026, from an address on Longwoods Road in Deering and was recovered prior to noon the same day on Dodge Hill Road near Bound Tree Road in Henniker.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information regarding the theft or observed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the theft is asked to contact the Hillsboro Police Department at (603) 464-5512.

**News Release**

Hillsboro, NH – On July 30, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report that a vehicle had intentionally rammed another vehicle. Following the collision, the suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Officers subsequently located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Bog Road. The suspect remained inside the residence for a short period while officers established a perimeter and attempted to make contact. The incident was resolved peacefully, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as,
Kenneth R Coffin, age 78, of Hillsboro.

Coffin has been charged with:
Reckless Conduct (Deadly Weapon)
Attempted Second Degree Assault (Deadly Weapon)
Criminal Threatening
Conduct After an Accident.

He was ordered held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending an appearance before the court. Bog Road in the area of Melody Lane was briefly closed due to the incident but has since reopened. The Hillsboro Police Department was assisted by the Antrim and Henniker Police Departments, as well as the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
