RANDY TEGEN

After 41 total years of service in the military, and the fire service, Lieutenant Randy Tegen is just a few shifts away from retirement.

Known for his warm personality, unrelenting effort on fire scenes, and delicious apple pie, Randy has been a cornerstone of our family since 1999. He has been excellent at every position he held, and is held in high regard for his mechanical understanding of fire apparatus and pumps. Randy has a no-quit attitude, and during our interview with him, emphasized how important it is for our new firefighters to treat the people we encounter as our customers who deserve our best work, on every scene.

We’re going to miss Lt. Tegen a whole lot, but his name will continue to be spoken around our dinner tables for many years to come.

Congratulations Randy - we wish you a peaceful, rest-filled retirement.

UNIT CITATION

A Unit Citation is a prestigious award given to a group of responders; and in this case members from two separate crews for demonstrating exceptional teamwork in the event of a critical incident. The purpose of a Unit Citation is recognizing extraordinary performance by a group, rather than one individual.

For a high-stakes rescue at a single-family dwelling fire in August of 2025, the members listed below were awarded a Unit Citation.

Congratulations and a job well done to Lieutenant Cerda, Lieutenant Sauter, Engineer Wells, Firefighter Mehringer, Firefighter Jackson!
