7th Grade Football
Welcome back to the Gridiron glee, now it's time for an announcement from me. Thursday night your Hillsboro 7th grade Eagles took on the Alvarado Indians in what was sure to be a savage matchup. The Eagles came out soaring and scoring with Parlo Howard leading us off with not one but two touchdown runs to start us off thanks to a pesky penalty resulting in a callback. Nevertheless, the Eagles never took their foot off the gas with the defense keeping the nest safe and the offense soaring high led to a commanding 22-0 lead going into the half. The Indians were only able to respond once and off a long and grueling drive allowed them to sneak into the endzone to put a score up. The Eagles answered with a call of their own however and ended the game with a score of 30-6. Our offensive player of the game was Parlo Howard and defense stood strong with Kyleon Wallace flying on both sides and putting down any raids that the Indians had planned. Good job team, enjoy the win. For all of those that missed it you will have an opportunity next week when your hometown Eagles take on the Whitney Wildcats.
8th Grade Hillsboro Football
🦅🏈 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 8TH GRADE HILLSBORO EAGLES! 🏈🦅
What a night for Eagle Nation! Our 8th grade boys came out ready to compete and took down the Alvarado Indians with toughness, heart, and teamwork!
The game started with a bang when Phanness Gowans recovered a fumble and took it all the way to the house for the first touchdown of the season! The excitement continued as Jordan Fennell powered through for the two-point conversion.
Next, Kaydence Harris found the end zone with a smooth run, followed by Kayman Robinson walking in for the two-point conversion.
Then came a statement play from Aleeland Ball, the “boy in a man’s body,” breaking loose for an incredible 45-yard touchdown run! Jordan Fennell added another two-point conversion as the Eagles continued to roll.
Phanness Gowans wasn’t finished. He had another tough, impressive run while battling through defenders trying everything they could to bring him down. Although the touchdown was called back, the effort and toughness were undeniable. A few plays later, the man himself, Jordan Fennell, punched it into the end zone, and Kayman Robinson shifted his way in for another two-point conversion.
To finish the night, the King himself, Kaydence Harris, powered his way into the end zone with a touchdown run that showed pure strength and determination. (Easy, Kaydence… those boys have parents sitting in the stands! )
The final touchdown belonged to Phanness Gowans, capping off an amazing night with the final two-point conversion.
But the story of the night wasn’t just the offense — our defense was UNGUARDABLE! 🦅🔥
Defence wins games, and tonight showed!
Every single player stepped up, flying to the ball, making tackles, and playing with the kind of toughness that represents Hillsboro football. Jerome Joiner showed out, delivering big hits and setting the tone by popping guys like they were little boys.
Jordan Fennell, Phanness Gowans, Niko Rea, Chase Blalock, and Aleeland Ball all earned their Toughness Stripes at the end of the game by making multiple solo tackles and showing what it means to play with heart and determination.
This team showed grit, discipline, toughness, and Eagle pride. Every player contributed, and every moment was earned.
Congratulations to our 8th Grade Hillsboro Eagles on an incredible victory over the Alvarado Indians! Keep working, keep improving, and keep chasing that next goal.
Great job, fellas! Let’s keep putting in the work and go 2-0!
EAGLE NATION IS PROUD OF YOU!
