Hillsboro Water is proposing water rate adjustments for 2027 and 2028, and we want your input! Water rates are designed so that all customers - including residential, commercial, and industrial users - pay their fair share based on how they use the City’s water system and how much water they use.
The Utilities Commission is considering 3 options:
1️⃣Option 1: 4% increase for all customers, matching the 2024 Rate Study recommendations.
2️⃣Option 2: 4% increase for most customers (including residential), 6.5% increase for industrial customers, to help fund the WWSS Industrial Pipeline Project.
3️⃣Option 3: 4.5% increase for most customers (including residential), 7% increase for industrial customers, to help fund the WWSS Industrial Pipeline Project and minimize future rate increases.
For a typical residential customer, the proposed adjustments would be an additional $2.24 - $2.53 per month in 2027.
Share your input on the proposed adjustments with the Utilities Commission until September 18, 2026. The Utilities Commission will use this input to help in the decision-making process. Learn more about the proposed options and submit your comments at www.Hillsboro-Oregon.gov/WaterRates.
