We strive to keep our veterans informed.

Our office handles an immense amount of private information including PII, medical records to include mental health records, financial information, and more. At this present time, our office only has two private offices to give our clients the confidentiality they require and deserve. There are many instances where those two offices are occupied, and other staff members are forced to handle private information at the front desk.

In the spring, we were given a construction start date to allow us more space from the office next door. With that information, we moved forward with hiring another service officer due to our case load. That date has come and gone with no reasonable idea on a tentative timeline.

There is also concern now that we will lose the space in the conference rooms where we hold our annual Veteran's Appreciation Night and Christmas dinner.

We would like to encourage our veterans and their families to get involved in local government to ensure you get the privacy and respect you deserve.

Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

A discussion between representatives of the Highland County Veteran Services Office (HCVSO) and the Highland County Board of Commissioners was held at the latter’s weekly Wednesday morning meeting.
