One of the most meaningful missions in the Highland County Summer Scavenger Hunt is the Hero Selfie mission!

Snap a selfie or group photo with a Highland County first responderβ€”whether it's a police officer, firefighter, EMT, or paramedicβ€”and take a moment to thank them for the important work they do every day to keep our communities safe.

πŸ“Έ Take a photo with a local hero
❀️ Show your appreciation
πŸ† Earn points in the scavenger hunt
πŸ—ΊοΈ Explore Highland County

Remember to be respectful of their time, as they may be on duty. If they're available, ask politely for a quick photo and don't forget to say thank you!

Let's show our local heroes just how much they mean to Highland County. One selfie at a time!

πŸ‘‡ Have a favorite local first responder or department you'd like to thank? Give them a shoutout in the comments!

Looking for something to do in Highland County? Check out our weekly idea from our list of 52 Things to Do in Highland County

Located in the southern part of the county is the Fort Hill Earthworks and Nature Preserve. This is a beautiful sanctuary and is well worth your time to visit while you are in the area! It is also home to the mile and a half long earthwork, which is believed to be a ceremonial gathering place for the people of the ancient Hopewell culture. Fort Hill is a beautiful respite from the noise and commotion of the 21st century world. Fort Hill Archaeological Preserve protects a 2000-year-old large earthen-walled ceremonial enclosure on its flat ridgetop and shelters one of the finest and oldest forests in Ohio. Eleven miles of trails immerse hikers in the beauty of Ohio’s Appalachian hill-country.
