Hillsboro Fire Protection District

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District is an organization dedicated to providing the best emergency services to our citizens. We operate from 2 Engine Houses.

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District covers an area of 44 square miles in central Jefferson County, MO. The Fire District provides it's citizens with fire suppression, EMS First Response, extrication, specialized rescue situations, Haz Mat Response, and any other type of emergency response. We currently have a paid staff of 15 and dedicated volunteers. Hillsboro Fire has 2 fire stations staffed

with 2 firefighters 24/7/365. Station 1 is centrally located in the City of Hillsboro. Station 2 is located on Highway B. The district is lead by Fire Chief Brian Gaudet. July 2026 was another exceptionally busy month for the Hillsboro Fire Protection District. In addition to responding to 130 calls for service, your firefighters provided four days of fire and emergency protection at the Jefferson County Fair, totaling 125 personnel-hours of coverage. District personnel also participated in public-relations activities and community events while continuing to complete training, equipment checks, station duties, and the many other responsibilities required to remain ready around the clock. We are proud of the dedication your firefighters continue to demonstrate while serving and protecting our community.

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District, alongside Valle Ambulance District, Mapaville Fire Protection District, and Goldman Fire Protection District, was proud to provide fire and EMS standby coverage for the Jefferson County Fair 2026.

With extreme heat expected throughout the event, crews prepared accordingly by establishing cooling stations and implementing additional EMS considerations to ensure the safety of fairgoers, participants, and staff. Our firefighters and paramedics responded to numerous medical incidents, providing prompt, professional, and life-saving care when it mattered most.

We appreciate our mutual aid partners for their teamwork and coordination, which helped make this year’s fair a safe and successful event. Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope you had a great time, and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Today B crew got to meet the Budweiser Clydesdales at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. A huge THANK YOU to the Budweiser staff for bringing out Patriot for us to meet!

Hillsboro Fire crews assisted with swift water rescues during the July 10 flooding in Washington County and surrounding areas. Our personnel are highly trained and committed to rescuing anyone in need, including our four-legged friends.

Incident wide, there were hundreds of swift water rescues made during this event.

if you see floodwater, turn around. It’s not worth the risk.

EDIT: Units are home safe after 15 hours.

Boat 6599R, Boat 6599RI, Chief 6500, Mini Pumper 6516 and Drone 6579 have been dispatched as part of a regional boat strike team to assist Washington County and surrounding communities with swift water rescue operations.

If you encounter flooded roadways, Turn Around, Don’t Drown. No destination is worth risking your life. Just a few inches of moving water can carry away a vehicle, and floodwaters often hide dangerous hazards beneath the surface.

The Hillsboro Fire Protection District remains committed to protecting our community while supporting our neighboring agencies during this severe weather event. Please stay weather-aware, avoid flooded areas, and stay safe.

It was another very busy month at the Hillsboro Fire Protection District. Your firefighters responded to 139 alarms. We also held our bi-annual open house, we had a large crowd throughout the day. We want to thank all of those that attended and for your continued support!
