The best plans always seem to go wrong. Since the Commissioners meeting was at City Hall today (July 28 2026), the plan was that we would not live stream (technical issues) and load the recording up to the County’s YouTube channel after the meeting. Unfortunately, between technical issues and people issues, the recording did not start until after public comment and the first couple of standing order presentations. There will be many people unhappy about this – including the technical staff. We understand. But rest assured this was not our plan. We hope to have all the issues resolved before the next meeting on August 11. We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Due to the elevator failure and accessibility issues to the public meetings, the County Board of Commissioners will meet at Hillsdale City Council Chambers at the Hillsdale City Hall on July 28, August 11, and August 25. Further changes will be made if the elevator is not repaired by the end of August.

Our website is currently not available. The vendor we use for hosting our website is working on the problem, but has not estimated time to restore at the moment. Seems to be a network issue, not a breach. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Reminder: County of Hillsdale offices and the courts will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026 for the Juneteenth holiday. Please plan accordingly. The Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office and Hillsdale County Central Dispatch are, of course, always open.

Due to a scheduling conflict with the Michigan Association of Counties Legislative Conference, the April 28, 2026 Regular Meeting of the Hillsdale County Board of Commissioners has been changed to Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the County Office Building, 33 McCollum Street, Suite 210, Hillsdale, MI 49242.

The County of Hillsdale Technology Department (HCTD) has received notice from AT&T today that all business wirelines in the Hillsdale Central Office will be terminated in June 2026. Further, all dial tone service from the Hillsdale AT&T Central Office will end on November 15, 2026.

If you are still using a wired phone (not wireless) from AT&T in the 437 or 439 exchange, the HCTD recommends you move your AT&T wire phone line to another vendor, or contact AT&T to discuss what they recommend.

The County of Hillsdale Tech Department has been made aware of a problem with AT&T cell phones calling the County’s office numbers. We have contacted AT&T and they are working on the issue. It may take as much as 24 hours for AT&T to resolve the matter. Until then, please email our offices or stop in.
This, fortunately, does NOT affect calls to 911 (we have been testing to confirm).
