Have you tried our one of our newer activities, Rendever: VR Connections?

It is a virtual reality experience for older adults. Come check it out on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. in the Computer Lab!

Experience the world like never before! Rendever brings immersive virtual reality experiences to seniors, enabling travel, exploration, and meaningful connections.

Rendever, a virtual reality (VR) experience for older adults, is an evidence-based program designed to overcome social isolation through the power of positive, shared experiences. Supported by the National Institute on Aging and the National Academy of Medicine, Rendever has more than 20 clinical studies demonstrating its ability to connect people to the world through an individualized or shared immersive experience.

Activities include:
- Revistiting meaningful memories, including national sites, virtual walking tours, and guided meditation.
- Activity guides educate and offer travel experiences in arts and entertainment, culture, nature, adventure, and athletics.
- Leveled programs support sensitivity for those new to the VR experience.

Bringing this program to the Center was made possible by a grant through the Michigan Association of Senior Centers and Molina Healthcare! We truly appreciate their generosity and dedication to helping older adults in new and innovative ways!

If you are interested in the program, you can call 517-437-2422 or visit us at 320 W. Bacon Street, Hillsdale, MI 49242

Yesterday, we celebrated the retirement of one of our beloved volunteers, Maribel Knight.

She has been one of our volunteer drivers for 19 years and we are so grateful for the time and effort she has put in to helping older adults in the community!

In 2024, she won the Michigan Association of Senior Centers’ Volunteer of the Year Award for her work here 🏆

In her volunteer career here, she has driven for 7,805 hours and 15 minutes and a total of 144,455 miles! 🚗

Such an accomplishment! Thank you for all you have done for the Center and the lives you have helped and touched throughout the years! ♥️
