While it’s been very wet lately, we have still had a few fires. Wednesday night we responded to a stubble fire started by a combine. It was quickly brought under control. Thanks to Lahoma Fire Department and Kremlin Fire & Rescue for the assist!

10:48 UPDATE:
THE TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 1 AM.
THE COLD FRONT IS ROUGHLY AN HOUR AWAY. STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO FORM IN THE AREA AND MAY BE SEVERE DUE TO LARGE HAIL, WINDS, AND EVEN THOUGH THE TORNADO THREAT HAS LESSENED SOME, THEY ARE STILL POSSIBLE.

SEVERE STORMS ARE STILL AFFECTING THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTY SO IT'S NOT TOTALLY OVER YET. HOPEFULLY NO SWIRLY THINGS.

THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW INJURIES OUT THERE BUT I HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY FATALITIES AT ALL. WE'LL KNOW MORE IN THE MORNING.

I'LL BE UP UNTIL OUR THREATS GO AWAY.

HANG IN THERE.

Good morning,

Red Flag Warning in effect today across all of western Oklahoma and central Oklahoma along and west of the I-35 corridor. Fire Weather Watch in effect for tomorrow for all but southeastern Oklahoma noting that solidly elevated to near-critical fire weather and fuels conditions will occur in those southeastern counties. Please refrain / delay any outdoor burning through the remainder of the week.

Very dry air will overspread the state today and tomorrow yielding very receptive fuels and the expectation of increasing wildfire occurrence. Resources continue to work the significant wildfires in northwestern Oklahoma from yesterday with more accurate mapping and acreage/damage assessments in progress. The significant fires from yesterday are listed below.

Ranger Road Fire (Beaver County / Kansas): 145,000 Acres (est.) / 0% Contained
Stevens Fire (Texas County / Kansas): 5,500 (est.) / 25% Contained
Side Road Fire (Texas County): 3,300 Acres / 25% Contained
43 Fire (Woodward County): 2,200 Acres / 20% Contained
