The Vermillion RISE has engaged the services of Site Strategies Plus, LLC and its founder Jerry Acy to manage the everyday, operational oversight of the Vermillion RISE. As The RISE grows, Acy will implement strategies to grow the staff and services, improve the facility upkeep and implement strategies to improve the every-day business lives of the companies located at The RISE. Acy's foresight, experience and knowledge will also bring additional resources toward the economic development of the site and the recruitment of new companies.
Previously, Acy was the Executive Director of River Ridge Commerce Center along the Ohio River in Southern Indiana for 17 years. With Acy at the helm, the RRCC site was transformed from abandoned buildings and overgrown property left by the US Army into a commercial and industrial destination, shaping Southern Indiana’s economic development landscape for decades to come. During Acy's tenure at River Ridge the site grew to over 80 companies employing more than 12,000 people, supporting $900 million in wages annually.
The Board of Directors of Vermillion RISE fully expects Acy will help implement the Board's vision to make The RISE, and Vermillion County, a place where companies and residents both "want to live" and can grow together to make a more perfect union. Acy has already written the playbook to develop premier sites like The RISE and we fully expect he is the best candidate to do the same again, here in Vermillion County.
