One final hello, Hillsdale County! We are excited to continue to roll out our Real Caregivers Rock Campaign posters! Look for these lovely photos of your friends and neighbors throughout Hillsdale County 🤗

CAPA would like to extend a huge shoutout and thank you to all of our Caregiver models! Thanks for taking time to make our campaign come to life!

We are going to wrap up with Kevin, baby Noah, big sister Molli, and big brother Liam! Be sure to look for this family throughout Hillsdale County. Kevin shared with us "caring for a baby is a team effort, and everyone who helps with Noah understands just how important patience truly is. Babies cry because they need something, and it's our job as caregivers to respond with calm, love, and understanding -- even when we're tired or overwhelmed. Taking a moment to breathe, asking for help, or stepping away safely can make all the difference. Patience helps keep our children safe and reminds us why caring for them is such an important responsibility."

It sure is, Kevin! Thank you for the reminder of just how important caregiving is.

When you are around the county, look for Aero and Archer! Aero shared that "we're preparing for the potty-training stage, and I've been hearing from a lot of other parents and caregivers about how challenging it can be -- full of accidents, frustration, and big emotions on both sides. I recently learned that potty training is the leading cause of shaken baby syndrome. As caregivers, we need to mentally prepare to stay calm, patient, and consistent. Taking a breath, slowing down, and responding with encouragement can make a big difference in keeping things positive and safe."

Absolutely, Aero! Thank you so much for that good advice!

When you are around the county, look for Sarah and baby Josie! Sarah told us “balancing work, school, and parenting can feel overwhelming at times, but also the most rewarding part of my life. There are moments when stress builds up and patience feels thin, but in those moments, I remind myself to pause. I make sure Josie is safe in her crib, free of blankets and toys and step away for a minute to breathe and reset. Don’t be afraid to let your baby cry for a few minutes if that’s what you need to also take care of yourself! We all need help and a break at times!”

So true Sarah! Thanks for the great reminder!

When you are out and about, look for Kelsey and baby Oliver!
Kelsey notes that she is "a very sleepy caregiver some nights. We've gone through sleep regression before, and even though it comes and goes, those nighttime wake-ups can be really tough. Being up multiple times a night and running on little sleep can leave you feeling overwhelmed and worn down. I've learned from other parents and caregivers that these phases are normal, but it's important to take care of ourselves too. In those late-night moments, pause, take a breath, and respond with patience. As caregivers, giving ourselves grace, asking for support when we need it, and remembering our babies are still learning can help keep everyone safe and supported -- even on the most exhausting nights."

Well said! Thank you, Kelsey!

💙 Big changes at CAPA! 💙

We’re saying goodbye (for now!) to our Executive Director, Nikki, as she begins an exciting new chapter across the pond in England with her new husband and family 🇬🇧. We are incredibly grateful for the passion, energy, and heart she brought to CAPA.
