Sometimes, the biggest step forward is believing you can do it.

After losing a job she thought she loved, Hillsdale County resident Tia McKibbin came to Michigan Works! Southeast looking for a new sense of purpose — and a chance to set an example for her children. Through the WIOA Dislocated Worker program, Tia received support to pursue new career training. Despite doubting whether she could succeed in school, she not only completed her training — she finished at the top of her class.

The WIOA Dislocated Worker program helps eligible workers who have lost their jobs connect with training, career services and other support to move toward a new career.

Contact MWSE to learn more about the program: mwse.org/contact-us/.
