Carroll County Republican Committee Chairman Lindsay Honeycutt shared this report late yesterday:

“I am writing to report that this year's annual golf tournament was the most successful since its inception nearly 20 years ago! The number of golfers filled Blue Ridge Country Club to full capacity. There were many more who arrived unannounced and wanted to play, but there were no more golf carts. We turned golfers away because the course could not accommodate them!

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS ALL HAPPENED DURING HEAVY RAIN ALL DAY!

In addition, half of the golfers present were first responders who got to enjoy a relaxing day for free! According to the players, the rain made it even more fun!

I would like to thank all the committee members and volunteers who made this wonderful day possible:

Great job Carroll Committee!
Largest turnout in 9th district to date. Hats off to Chairman Honeycutt, the Golf committee, the fundraising committee and each member and volunteer who helped make this event such a success. You all gave over 50 first responders a much needed day to relax and enjoy themselves. We’re thankful for the 50 citizens who played alongside as well.

We are at capacity for our appreciation tournament. Please pray for great weather and a miraculous hole-in-one for one of the golfers!
