Today Candidate for state representative Devin Shaw K. McMackin Sr. was denied access to his local VA Health Clinc, due to face mask policies at the clinical building, he was going in for general Labs. The staff at front tried her best to get a resolution for the issue however, the best that was offered was going to another place outside of the VA health system for Labs. The issue was also that now he would not be able to see his Doctor, and health professional team because only tele/video appointment was only option now. He refused the mask policy due to underlining condition of Clostrophobia, sustained while in combat service. After contacting the Patient Advocates Services he was informed in short that nothing could be done and that only other option would be to get care abroad in the community. For the service our Candidate placed for this country and the service his family, 4 generations on fathers side and 3 on mothers side, he was in short denied care at this time. A very sad day for veterans around the nation that could not recieve basic care from the department of the government which was created for that specific duties. Shame on you VA Healthcare Of Hawai'i.
