Aloha, please join us in our remembrance of the 299th Regimental Memorial Day as we honor the sacrifice of our Soldiers.

The Squadron placed leis and wreaths at several memorials and off Upolu Point into the ocean in memory of the USAT Royal T. Frank that was sunk with 299th Infantry Regiment Soldiers after being torpedoed by a Japanese submarine between Maui and Hawaii Island on January 28th, 1942.

This also coincided with our Squadron Colors participating in the Vietnam Memorial “Wall That Heals” as it came to Hilo. Flowers were also laid at our Keaukaha Military Reservation memorial to those Soldiers from the 29th IBCT who deployed from our units to Vietnam and made the ultimate sacrifice.

To find out more about the USAT Royal T. Frank and its history see the below story in the National Archives:

SSG Lance Washington and his wife Lauren making the rounds on Hawaii News Now. This ʻOhana has some challenges ahead and the HIARNG is trying to help them out as much as we can.

Just one year ago, Lauren Washington was happily living her life as a military wife, caring for her soldier and her three kids. That all changed abruptly following a visit to the emergency room.
