Classes Jan 7 and 8 begin at 8:45 am, as that is still considered first semester. All classes Jan 9th begin at 8:30 am. Second semester also begins Jan 9th.
Keep in mind, freshmen did not have final exams prior to the holiday break in their freshmen classes. Their classes run all year long. So, freshmen have regular classes starting at 8:45 am on Jan 7th. I have had a lot of parents who said they are keeping their freshmen home Jan 7 and 8th. Please remember that instruction for freshmen continues as normal Jan 7th.
For students who are typically grades 10-12, have classes on a 4X4 schedule (Semester long classes), had their finals prior to the holiday break....please know that you have make up exams Jan 7th and 8th starting at 8:45 am. Many parents have asked if their students in this situation need to come to school Jan 7and 8th. My answer has been...if your child has to make up a final exam, they better be at school. If your child has over 5 unexcused absences, they cannot afford to miss school on Jan 7 and 8.
Second semester begins Jan 9th and students need to be in their first class by 8:30 am. Dismissal on Jan 9th is 3:30 am. the new bell schedule begins Jan 9th.
