Today your Hilton Volunteer Firefighters covered multiple calls for service, many of which came in at the same time. 😎

This morning Hilton’s Engine 263 🚒 assisted with coverage of the North Greece Fire District while their units operated on scene of a major incident within the Town of Greece. At the same time, Hilton received two calls of their own involving a traumatic injury and a tree that had fallen on a car.

This afternoon Hilton responded to 6 more calls for service, all which came in within an hour of each other, many overlapping. These included a motor vehicle accident, multiple trees and power lines down, Rt-259 completely blocked by a large tree, and an electrical burning odor inside a house. 🌲

At one point every piece of apparatus was operating on a different scene. Not a single call went unanswered. Thank you to our dedicated and hard working volunteers and also to the Lake Shore FD - Monroe County for assisting on scene of the burning electrical odor.

**Update (5/19/26 11:30PM): National Grid has deenergized the lines. The Town of Parma Highway Department has barricaded the area until repairs can be made. Please continue to avoid the area until all barricades have been removed.

HAPPENING NOW (5/19/26 9:40 PM): Hamlin Parma Townline Rd is closed between Roosevelt Highway and Walker Rd. A large tree fell and took down multiple power lines in the area.

Crews have secured the area and are awaiting the utility company arrival. Roosevelt Highway is unaffected and remains fully open at this time.

Today the Hilton-Parma Fire District and Spencerport Fire District co-hosted a Joint Tanker Operations drill with our neighboring Districts.

Led by Spencerport Past Chief Brown and Hilton Deputy Chief Castronovo, this drill consisted of a brief classroom lesson/discussion, followed by three full-speed Tanker Operation evolutions consisting of an Attack Pumper, Dump Site, and Fill Site. 🚒

Tanker/Tender operations are often used for water supply in rural areas where fire hydrants are non-existent, or do not provide enough water. Utilizing three Engines and three Tankers, Firefighters were able to practice these skills in real time. While not used very often in our area, a need still exists and these skills can make or break the entire operation. 💦

We would like to thank all Districts for participating in this valuable drill. And special thanks to Spencerport for their assistance developing the drill and the use of their Training Facility! 🧑‍🚒

This morning the Hilton Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Rochester, NY, and Monroe Ambulance participated in the HERO Program presented at Hilton High School. This presentation started in the classroom last week and was concluded with a live scenario for the students. The presentation is geared to illustrate the dangers of drug use and provide for overdose awareness.

Students were also provided with resources if themselves or someone they know are struggling with drug addition, alcohol abuse, and/or mental health struggles.
