After many years of taking part in Hinckley’s Memorial Day Parade, I was honored to lead this year’s parade alongside Fire Chief Payne. While Memorial Day often signals the unofficial start of summer, we must never forget that it is, above all, a solemn day of remembrance to honor the sacrifice of the men and women who gave their lives in service to this great country.

WOW, that fast! Owner has been located and picking up her pup.
Special thanks to the wonderful neighbor who grabbed this wayward pup!

We need your help Facebook friends. This young Golden Retriever showed up at a house on Willow Brook Lane near Valley Brook Blvd. He does have two collars, one possibly an invisible fence style, but no tag. At the moment we are unable to scan for a chip, but working on it. Please share to get him home.

As we begin , May 6th to May 16th, we remember the four Ohio law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2025:

- Special Deputy Sheriff Larry Henderson, Jr. (Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office)
- Deputy Sheriff Daniel Weston Sherrer (Morrow County Sheriff’s Office)
- Police Officer Phillip C. Wagner (Lorain Police Department)
- Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton (Ohio State Highway Patrol)

Light Ohio Blue is a campaign to show support for law enforcement personnel across the state. We honor those who serve their communities each day, as well as those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Residents are encouraged to change their home’s exterior light to blue as a sign of support for law enforcement. We have a limited supply of blue light bulbs available for those who would like to participate. Bulbs may be picked up at the Hinckley Police Department.

Distracted driving continues to contribute to an increase in crashes across the state and here in Medina County. It’s important to stay off your phone and remain focused on the road. Phones down, eyes up.

If you didn't get a chance to see us at the Buzzard Day craft fair, don't worry.. I made sure all of our cruisers are stocked with plenty of goodies for the kids! From our educational activity books and pencils to HPD patch stickers, bracelets, and the very popular "Officer Buzzard" temporary tattoos.

If your child sees one of our officers, be sure to have them ask for something fun!
