Knott County Soil Conservation District

Knott County Soil Conservation District The Knott County Soil Conservation is governed by 7 Board Supervisors. Meetings are held the 1st Thursday of each month @ 4:00 pm @ the district office.

The Knott County Conservation District was established in 1952. The District is a subdivision of Local and State Government. The District was organized for the purpose of administering an overall soil and water conservation program within the county. The District is responsible under state law for developing a district wide conservation and resource use program and for carrying it forward by helpi

ng private landowners and operators to plan, apply and maintain technically sound soil and water conservation plans for their land. The District is self-governed by a seven member elected board of supervisors that may enter into working agreements and arrangements with any agency, governmental or otherwise, and with any person to carry out its programs and to accomplish its objectives. Through careful preparation and implementation of their annual work plan, the supervisors hope to address the natural resource concerns in a manner that will be beneficial to all the citizens of Knott County.
