With no rain insight we are having to add water to help get things compacted. If traveling 1375 East between 650-750 North, please SLOW DOWN !!! The dust being created for the houses is terrible, and it’s kicking up a lot of product. Please limit your speed to 15-20 MPH to mitigate these issues. Traffic is driving extremely fast and creating issues. Other option is to close this stretch to all traffic, barricading full road width until road is ready to be oiled.

🚨Updated information we will be delaying this work for a few days due to the heat. 🚨.

Giving drivers an advance heads up of planned road closure from Illini FS to East Kemp Street on 300 North. Road Closure will be from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM next week on September 1st and 2nd weather permitting. We will be installing a CMA overlay. Would ask that semi and tractor traffic avoid the area for a few days to allow product to cure with the heat expected next week. Will confirm plans on Monday once we confirm material order.

Planned road closures for 8-26-26 to 8-28-26 weather permitting for FDR work. These stretches will be closed to thru traffic. The 3 houses on 1375 will have access to drives during this time. As well the one house in kemp with drive facing alley will have access.

Tomorrow we will finish tree trimming of road ways and alleys that will be getting rebuilt. We will be placing add rock on the alleys in kemp and grading and compacting ahead of Wednesday’s scheduled work.

1375 East road rehabilitation took another leap in the right direction today with the old, undersized, narrow and failing concrete structure removed and it’s replacement installed. This will more than adequately handle the flows that Mother Nature brings and the wider culvert will make for a safer roadway for farm and vehicle traffic. Tomorrow will involve more add rock being placed on the road surface. Rip-Rap will be placed this week as well on fore slope and back slope of culvert area. Once that’s completed we will grade and compact material to prep for FDR. Unfortunately with heavy rain forecast, FDR will not occur until next week the soonest.

Late afternoon storms made a long day get even longer. Thankfully it was only a small area of the township affected. Multiple trees came down and a few required the enloader to help clear the roadway as the size and weight were too much for the back hoe. Power crews have restored power to Bowdre Residents affected by downed lines as of 8:45 PM.

8:00 PM update road will remain closed through mid day tomorrow to thru traffic. We had several non residents to this stretch of road disobeying road closed construction zone today. With a township resident having a close call with our truck. Please see comments for a refresher to state law!!

🚧🚧Construction update on 1375 East🚧👷‍♂️we ran out of material yesterday morning, we are currently awaiting more material to be crushed to finish last .3 tenths of mile. Hopefully this will happen today, but if not, a possibility of continuing the closure of roadway into next week could exist. I will provide an update in comments later today. Thanks for your continued patience while we experience this unexpected delay.
