During this Thanksgiving Season we are reminded of the many things that we can give thanks for. Among these things, we, the Tax Commissioner and Staff, are thankful for the opportunity that has been given to us to serve each of you.
In establishing the first Thanksgiving Day President Abraham Lincoln said this about how the nation has been blessed:
"No human counsel hath devised, nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who while dealing with us in anger for our sins,
hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully
acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American people. I do, therefore, invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and
those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a Day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens".
Even though we should always give thanks let us set aside this day and this season some things and express our thankfulness and gratitude to our Almighty God.
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, we would like to inform you that our office will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, and Friday, November 24th, 2023. During this time, our team will be taking a well-deserved break to spend quality time with their loved ones.

The Tax Commissioner’s Office and all the County Government Offices will be closed at 2PM for Thanksgiving Eve! We will reopen Monday November 27th at our normal operation hours. We hope you all have a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

In observance of Veterans Day the offices of the Tax Commissioner will be closed Friday, November 10th, 2023. This includes our Midway satellite site. We will return to our regular hours Monday, November 13th.

The Courthouse Annex building will close at 4:00 PM Friday December 2, 2022 due to nearby streets being blocked off early in preparation for the Annual Christmas Parade. The Motor Vehicle and Property Tax offices will close at 4:00 PM and reopen Monday December 5, 2022 at 8:15 AM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
