Last week, we celebrated our Superstars during grade level awards ceremonies. We are proud of all of the accomplishments shared during these events.

Each homeroom teacher also selects one student per year who exemplifies all of the characteristics of a Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Superstar for the Superstar of the Year award. This student goes above and beyond to stand out in the classroom and school. Featured below are this year's recipients in 1st - 5th grades.

We’ve been honoring our Superstars all week, but this morning was a special celebration for our 5th graders moving on to middle school. Many have been with us since kindergarten, and while we are sad to see them go, we know that their futures are bright and promising! Shine bright always, Superstars! 💫✨🌟

Don't forget! All JME Superstars have a Live Oak Public Library account already through the PLAY program, and it is a fine-free account, too. 📚

Be sure to join LOPL's Summer Reading Program in Beanstack to be eligible for prizes. If you complete the steps to sync your Superstar's JME and Live Oak Beanstack accounts, you can log minutes for both competitions without any extra work - just double the prizes! Mrs. McCallar, school librarian at JME, or representatives at LOPL can help you with this. ✅

Additionally, Live Oak Public Library offers free, healthy lunches for children up to age 18 in partnership with America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Meals are served Monday - Friday during the summer. Superstars can check out great books and enjoy lunch at the same time. 😋

GMAS may be over, but learning never stops at JME! Our 5th graders have been working on a sustainability unit for the past few weeks. They learned about ways to help protect our planet and natural resources, focusing on reuse. ♻️

To wrap up the unit, 5th grade classes invited parents and our younger Superstars to a Trash to Treasure Gallery Walk that featured original art made from items like bottle caps and cardboard. 🌟 It was such a fun, creative way to highlight an important topic of study and real-world problem for our planet. 🌏
