To everyone working toward a better next chapter, keep going.

And to every community partner, volunteer, employer and supporter who helps make that next chapter possible, keep going too.

There is good work being done all around us. We’re grateful to be part of it. 🎯

WHAT COUNTS AS EVIDENCE OF IMPACT?

For 10 years, we have counted.

People served. IDs obtained. Jobs found. Rides provided. Applications completed. Housing secured. Referrals made. People connected to resources they needed.

Those numbers are important. They help us measure the work.

But some of the strongest evidence of SOAR’s impact has never fit neatly into our spreadsheets or case files.

It is the person who came back to tell us, “I’m still working”
“I found an apartment “
“I’m the employee of the month”
“I started a business”
“Come take a look at my new car”
“I received my birth certificate “
“I got the job. Can you help me get some shoes?”
“Thank you”

The person who needed help on the first day out and eventually needed us less. The person who comes by just to have a cup of coffee with us.

The person who walked through our door uncertain about what came next and discovered there were people willing to help figure it out.

The family that saw someone they love begin again.

The community partners, volunteers and donors who kept believing that having a place where someone could simply walk in and ask for help was worth sustaining.

For 10 years, we have collected data. We have the case files. We know the amount of dollars invested.

We have also collected evidence.

And FOR US the most important evidence of impact is a life moving forward. It’s the volunteers and team that keep things going Monday through Thursday.

We remember more than 1,000 individuals who have come through the doors!

📣 KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. CLEAR YOUR FUTURE.

The Liberty County Re-Entry Coalition is proud to share an upcoming opportunity presented by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. – Alpha Omega Sigma/F.S. Chapter and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. – Chi Pi Zeta Chapter.

For many individuals returning to the community, a criminal record can continue to create barriers to employment, housing, education, and other opportunities. Understanding your rights and knowing what options may be available is an important step toward moving forward.

We Built a Door.

A door someone returning home from incarceration could walk through and find what they actually needed.

An ID. A mobile phone and help learning how to use it. A computer lesson. A new or updated résumé. A bus ticket. Underwear and clothes for work. A backpack with hygiene items. A hot cup of coffee and a listening ear.

Help finding housing and employment. And someone with lived experience who understands the road ahead…and the barriers.

Sometimes reentry starts with very basic things. Things many of us rarely have to think about. We think about it everyday…

That’s why we built the door.

10 Years of SOAR Re-Entry …and counting.
