Constituted 11 January 1944 in the Army of the United States as the 138th Ordnance Bomb Disposal Squad. Activated 07 May 1944 Italy. Reorganized and redesignated 01 January 1945 as the 138th Ordnance Service Detachment. Reorganized and redesignated 08 April 1945 as the 138th Ordnance Bomb disposal Squad. Inactivated 30 October 1945 at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Redesigned 22 January 1951 a

s the 38th EOD Squad and allotted to the Regular Army. Activated 24 March 1951 at Raritan Arsenal, New Jersey. Reorganized and redesignated 15 June 1954 as the 38th Ordnance Detachment. Reorganized and redesignated 16 June 1997 as the 38th Ordnance Company. Campaign Participation Credit:
