These graceful visitors remind us that the farm is home to so much more than our barnyard animals. Whether you're strolling the trails or pausing to take in the scenery, you never know what wildlife you might encounter. Nature has a way of surprising us when we slow down and look closely.

Weir River Farm is looking for dedicated individuals to join our volunteer team!

Volunteer roles include:
🎒 Education Volunteers: Help lead field trips at Weir River Farm and World’s End.
🐷 Livestock Volunteers: Help care for our friendly goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, and chickens!
🍁 Boo in the Barnyard Volunteers, every Saturday in October: Help us greet visitors, assist with kids’ crafts and activities, give out prizes, and more!

Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day.

The places in our care across Massachusetts have been home to Indigenous peoples and communities for thousands of years, and they remain home today. These lands carry histories that deserve respect and reflection, not just today, but every day.

At The Trustees, we remain committed to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities as we care for these cultural landscapes. We're grateful to the Indigenous educators, artists, and knowledge keepers who share their stories with us and help shape how we tell the stories of these places.

Last chance to get tickets! Join experienced forager, Diana Burnell, today, Sunday, October 11, for a Mushroom Walk through Whitney and Thayer Woods, Weir River Farm, and Turkey Hill!

Interested in learning how to identify mushrooms and other delicious local wild edibles? This walk is perfect for the forager/mushroom enthusiast, outdoor enthusiast, foodie or vegetarian.

We will review how to properly identify mushrooms and wild edibles, discuss sustainable harvesting and local laws, and collect specimens to study. Learn 15-20 mushroom species that are available now, as well as a variety of non-edible/poisonous fungi, plants and herbs.

This walk is ideal for beginners, but experienced foragers are also welcome!

Tickets selling fast! Calling all mushroom enthusiasts! Interested in learning how to identify mushrooms and other delicious local wild edibles?
