Hingham Cultural Council Granting support for innovative artistic and cultural endeavors that elevate our community!

Hingham’s Cultural Council is a group of residents who are appointed by the Select Board to dispense public funding by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Artists, musicians, non-profit community groups and schools with a cultural project may apply for funding by writing a grant proposal during the grant cycle. The application process normally begins September 1st; all grants must be submit

ted to the on-line grants management system by mid-October of the given year. Before applying for a grant, please visit Massachusetts Cultural Council at: https://massculturalcouncil.org/communities/local-cultural-council-program/

The Councilors review each application. Each project is then discussed in detail at our Voting Meeting, where we then select the appropriate projects for funding, based on our current guidelines.

For programs in the arts, humanities & sciences in Massachusetts. This definition includes the study, pursuit, performance, exhibition & appreciation of cultural activities in the broadest sense.

Call for Artists! 🎨 If you’re a local artist, you’re invited to apply to the 21st Annual Hingham Arts Walk in Downtown Hingham. Taking place on Sunday, October 18th from 12-4PM, this is one of our favorite events of the year as downtown comes to life with artists displaying their work across town!

The Arts Walk is open to artists of all types & we’re looking for painting, illustration, photography, jewelry, ceramics, mixed media, youth art, pottery, wood and decorative artists (and more) to display their work. We’ll pair each accepted artist with a local business to showcase their work. The event draws wonderful community attendance & we look forward to it every October.
